The key difference between a headshot and a portrait is how closely they’re framed. A headshot is more tightly focused on your face, with the emphasis on your expression. Portraits, on the other hand, are a bit broader. While they still highlight the subject, they often include more of your body and the surroundings, giving a wider view of the scene.

When deciding between a headshot or a portrait, it’s essential to think about how you intend to use the image. Headshots are typically chosen for more formal uses like LinkedIn profiles, company websites, including “meet the team” sections. On the other hand, portraits are often used for editorial purposes—think trade magazine features, press releases, or even advertising.

Family and group portraits are always great to shoot!

Pregnancy is a very special time for anyone planning a family. In this image I capture this experience in a series of 3 images. As with all things worthwhile, it takes time to create. The image will take shape over the course of the pregancy and includes two pregnancy shoots, (usually at 4 and 8 months) and one with new baby in hand. I will work with you to create a simple but unique portrait that will be treasured forever.

I love getting creative and trying out new ideas with you. For this one, it’s super easy—we’ll just need a big frame to play with during the shoot, and later, it can double as the perfect spot to hang your final portrait masterpiece! Don’t worry, the rest of the magic happens back in my studio.

Here’s another fun and creative idea we can dive into—it’s always a hit and so much fun to shoot! All we need is a bit of space to capture everyone’s individual shots, plus some brainstorming on themes and poses. Once we’ve got that, I’ll work my magic and bring it all together into something that’s guaranteed to get everyone talking!
